The Greenbrier 4-H club met Monday, Jan. 14, at Landus Cooperative in Jefferson. For roll call everybody was to introduce themselves by telling your first and last name, age and grade, and the projects you have done in 4-H. The Young Leaders reported that they were planning a 4-H beef burger supper fundraiser.
Old business: Last month the Greenbrier 4-H club met at Spare Time Lanes in Jefferson to go bowling. New business: The Greenbrier 4-H basketball tournament will be Sunday, March 10, at the gym in Scranton. An Intermediate 4-H Omaha Zoo trip will be at the end of March. If any 7th or 8th grader is interested in going registration needs to by turned in by March 1. Also, everyone was reminded that YQCA training needs to be done online or face-to-face if you are showing livestock at the fair.
All members participated in a recreation game called Sticky Balls, where you blow marbles across the table and try to get them to stick to the double-sided tape in the center of the table.
The 4-H presentations were done by Kara Reed on her Spanish trip to Nicaragua, Gina Brown gave one on Iowa State fair queen week and her experience as fair queen, and Conner Allender on The Art of Lying. Refreshments were served by Kara Reed, Gina Brown, and Conner Allender.
Greenbrier’s next meeting will be Feb. 11 at 7 pm at Landus Cooperative. ~Bailey Anderson, reporter
